Workshops

We are also pleased to announce our pipe band program of workshops, We will advise on the overall pipe band set up, discuss and advise on tune selection, drum score writing, full band ensemble, instrument maintenance, tuning,dress, deportment and class lectures.
We have some of the pipe band worlds most experience pipers and drummers on hand to help you! If you are interested in the Kingdom Thistle Pipe Band Supplies piping and drumming/pipe band workshop weekends or would like to hire us please contact us for further information. We will happily discuss our highly competative rates and service with you in order to help you meet your own demands for successful piping and drumming.
Our successful workshop program is available all year round. We have a dedicated team of highly experienced Grade 1 pipers and drummers available. No matter where you are located or whatever your needs are, we are happy to help you on the road to successful piping and drumming. Please note below some of our Piper and Drummers.

Pipers

PM Tom Brown – Former PM of Dysart & Dundonald Pipe Band, Currently Music instructor at the highly successful Lochgelly High School Pipe Band, RSPBA Adjudicator and Lead PDQB Examiner.

Keith Robertson – Piper with the Vale Of Atholl Pipe Band, Bagpipe Instructor at Lochgelly High School.

Kevin Rogers – Piper, St Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band. and multiple Grade 1 major winner

PM Alen Tully – Pipe Major, St Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band, contemporary composer internationally recognised soloist and multiple Grade 1 major winner

Craig Munro – Piper, St Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band. Craig is the Owner of Wallace Bagpipes, Scotland and currently a member of the world famous Red Hot Chilli Pipers. Craig can be found at workshops all over the world. He offers an amazing insight into the production of African Blackwood Bagpipes from the planting of the seed, the harvest and care of the tree, right through each stage until the bagpipes are made by hand at his factory in Glasgow.

Drummers

Paul Brown – Drummer St Laurence O’Toole, 15 time RSPBA Major Drum Corps winner including Grade 1 world drum corps champion, Grade 1 Champion of Champions drum corps, 6 time Grade 1 All Ireland drum corps winner. Regularly attends workshops in Europe and the USA. Paul is also an RSPBA Drumming adjudicator and assessor for the PDQB

LD Stephen Creighton – LD St Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band, 3 time Grade 1 world champion drum corps, 2 time  Grade 1 champion of champions drum corps, 16 time RSPBA Major Drum Corps Winner, 11 time Grade 1 All Ireland Winner, 22 time world adult solo drumming finalist. Regularly attends workshops, seminars and judging in Europe, Canada, USA & South Africa Stephen is an innovator in modern pipe band drumming

Derek Doyle – Drummer St Laurence O’Toole, 15 time RSPBA Major Drum Corps winner, 7 time Grade 1 All Ireland drum corps winner, highly accomplished musician and tutor in not only pipe band drumming but various other forms of percussion. Derek also played percussion and toured with the Riverdance production

Gordon Brown – LD Boghall & Bathgate Pipe Band, Winner of many Grade 1 drumming titles as a Leading Drummer and also as a corps drummer under the leadership of Tom Brown.

John Moneagle – Former LD Vale Of Atholl, Tayside Police and other notable pipe bands, a championship winner and prolific tutor, a regularly attending workshops and seminars in Scotland and Europe.

Chris Johnston – LD Western Australia Police Pipe Band – Formely a drummer with St Laurence O’Toole. Now a resident in Perth WA, Winner of MSR Grade 1 world drum corps 2006. Available for tution in Australia, New Zealand and Asia

Gareth McLees – Drummer with Western Australia Police Pipe Band and Also spends the summer in Scotland with Shotts & Dykehead. Gareth is also a long time former member of the Field Marshall Montgomery Pipe Band. Winner of various grade one RSPBA majors both as a drummer and a band. Available for tution in Australia, New Zealand and Asia

Mikey McKenna – Drummer with St Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band, 15 time RSPBA Major Drum Corps Winner, 8 time Grade 1 All Ireland Winner, 4 time world adult solo drumming finalist & 2 time senior gold medal winner at MHAF Winter Storm, Kansas, USA.

Drum Majors

Drum Major Sgt Allan Campbell 3 Scots – Drummer and Drum Major with 3 Scots, The Black Watch, Royal Regiment Of Scotland. Drum Major Campbell holds the Rank Of Pioneering Sgt within the regiment and is currently the Regimental Drum Major. Based at Fort George, Inverness. Sgt Campbell has previously played with the Lochgelly High School Pipe Band and is the Winner of various RSPBA Major Championship titles. Sgt Campbell has completed his Pipe Band Drumming and Drum Majors courses at the Army School Of Piping and Drumming in Edinburgh with distinction.

Drum Major William Jordan – Drum Major William Jordan is currently the Drum Major of Scottish Power Pipe band. One of the most experienced Drum majors in the world today, Billy Started with Dumbarton & District Pipe band at a young age as a drummer.Following this he Joined The 1st Bn Argyll &Sutherland Highlanders, as a side drummer and also played tenor and bass drum. He completed his drumming courses at the army school of piping and Drumming, and completed and passed RSPBA drumming exams.He then completed his Drum Majors Certificate which he passed with distinction. After the completion of his Military courses and drumming exams, he was appointed Drum Major of The 1st Bn Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders. Drum Major Jordan was the 1st Drum Major to lead the Edinburgh Military Tattoo Abroad in New Zealand in 2000. This was one of the highlights of his career along with playing for Her Majesty The Queen and the royal family several times during his career.
A champion Drum Major and major finalist in all Scottish, British, European, World and Cowal championships. His pupils have taken all the major championships.

Tenor Drummers

Stephen McQuillan – Lead Tenor Drummer at Boghall & Bathgate, Winner of many major grade 1 drumming titles, Stephen is know internationally as a tenor drumming innovator, owner of Proline Tenor Sticks, the worlds fastest selling tenor drumming product (available from Kingdom Thistle Pipe Band Supplies) and a regular at international workshops in both Europe, Canada & USA.

Simon Hodgett – Tenor Drummer with St Laurence O’Toole Pipe Band Dublin. Winner of several Grade 1 drumming major titles including 2014 Champion of Champions Drum Corp. Simon is available for workshops and one to one tuition.
