Bennett Pipe Bag – Goat Skin

Hide is perfect for beginners. It’s light and airtight and doesn’t need seasoning to keep it in condition. Perfect for the novice or the casual piper who can’t afford to maintain a rigorous practice regime.

  • A hide skin pipe bag is best for the occasional player, or semi-retired piper, or for someone starting out to play the pipes.
  • If you plan on practicing 3-4 times per week, you should consider goat or sheep skin pipe bags.
  • You can expect the same tonal quality from a hide skin. However, there is a lesser window of optimum tonal quality – especially if you’re a wet blower. So a hide skin is perfect for dry blower.
  • Hide skin can still take the moisture control system.
  • A hide skin pipe bag does not require any seasoning – EVER.

Bennett pipe bags are a third-generation business, and they were established in 1995 with father and son, James and Mark Bennett. Bennett Pipe bags are played the world over, from beginners, to gold medallists.

This impressive goatskin pipe bag is played by many top grade pipe bands, and the Bennett bag is renowned throughout for producing a market leading product.

Goatskin is our top of the range bag. It’s a great quality skin and gives you a longer lasting bag with great resonance and comfort.

This goatskin is of the highest quality and all  skins are hand-picked and tanned by Bennett’s own tanner, who they have worked with closely since the business was established in 1995.

A goat skin pipe bag gives you another 35-40 min window of optimum tonal quality. Sheepskin doesn’t absorb the moisture as well as Goat Skin. Whereas a sheepskin pipe bag is the traditional choice for the piper, the goat skin pipe bags are relatively new to the market.

All bags are made to order and has a waiting time of approx 7 days.
